Steve Brady with Tony Pittman/Steve Brady - Service SCM with Tony Pittman
Submitted by Steve Brady on Thu, 2008-06-26 06:15.I talk with Tony Pittman about "Services Supply Chains" and how that is similar to, and different from, product oriented supply chains. Tony shares with us some of the unique and interesting challenges associated with this, and then he turns the tables on me, asking what students say when we start talking about services rather than products. We also talk about how Tony went from engineering to supply chains.

Steve Brady and Pete Swan - Peter Swan and Highway Privatization
Submitted by Steve Brady on Mon, 2008-02-04 21:49.We chat with Dr Peter Swan from Penn State University, in Harrisburg. His recent study (with Michael Belzer of Wayne State University) found that increased privatization of highways may increase the traffic on what are perceived to be free roads (of course, they carry costs--just not directly billed.)
According to a Penn State press release:
The number of diverted trucks is important to both the State of Ohio and the nation for economic and social reasons.

Article about Importance of Logistics
Submitted by Steve Brady on Fri, 2007-09-21 09:26.DC Velocity has published a great article pointing out the way in which logistics (and by extension, supply chain management) comes through time and time again--and occasionally with a high profile effort. In this case, the author writes about the logistics efforts that were essential to the successful roll-out of the latest, and final, Harry Potter book.

Submitted by Steve Brady on Fri, 2007-08-10 05:39.Many of you have recently found this site, either through comments on Linked-In, or other sources. I wanted to take a minute to welcome you to this site, and ask that you take a minute to look around, and ask yourself: "How can I contribute, and help the Supply Chain Community?"
I have a few ideas, and I wanted to share them with you.
First, this site is provided as a free service to professionals and academics in the Supply Chain and Logistics arenas to encourage the exchange of ideas, and hopefully foster creativity, and friendships. That said, how can YOU help?
